Week 14 Preview - Testing Plans + In Class Work

We’re nearly finished with the semester! In the next class we’ll go over your usability, accessibility and technical testing plans that you’ll be using in class next week.

Week 13 Preview - Style Guides, Pattern Libraries and Content Management Systems

For the next class, we’ll talk about how you can document your website through style guides and pattern libraries.

Week 12 Preview - Testing for Devices, Accessibility and Usability

In the next class, we’ll talk about how to test your websites for optimal usability and accessibility, while ensuring the websites work well on as many devices as possible.

Week 11 Preview - Performance, JavaScript and SVG

In the next class, we’ll talk about web tools for interaction, including common JavaScript web patterns and how these can be integrated into a website while keeping performance in mind. We’ll also briefly discuss more about SVG images.

Week 10 Preview - Atomic Design, HTML Wireframing + Special Guests

Next week, we’ll continue practicing with CSS Media Queries in class and cover the atomic design methodology. We’ll also start wireframing your project assignments in HTML and get a visit from a special guest.

Week 9 Preview - Media Queries and Layout

This week we’ll be putting together everything we’ve learned and covering HTML and CSS responsive layouts and media queries.

Since we’re about half-way through the semester, the mid-semester survey will help me determine how things are going and where I can improve. You’ll also get the opportunity to share any feedback about how you and your partner are working together.

We’ll be continuing our discussion on CSS and visual design patterns in the next class.

Week Six Preview - Design Patterns and CSS

In the next class we go from content strategy to design patterns and an introduction to cascading style sheets (CSS).

Week Five Preview - Sketching and Mobile First

The last class was all about content. In the next class, we’ll get into how to structure that content using mobile-first and sketching.
